MidTown, Inc. and Uptown Columbus, Inc./Business Improvement District present: Cinda Baxter, “The 3/50 Project: Building Business from the Ground Up”

Relying on the simple premise “Pick 3, spend 50, save your local economy,” The 3/50 Project exploded onto the national stage as a way to help locally-owned, independent businesses reclaim consumer dollars in a positive, effective manner. In the present economy it has become even harder for local, independent shops to compete with national chains for fewer consumer dollars. Learn why The 3/50 Project is so important to those businesses that are vitally important to our local economy.

Cinda Baxter founder of The 3/50 Project will be coming to the Columbus, Georgia Trade Center’s Foundry Room, Wednesday November 4, 2009, 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. to speak about the importance of independent, locally-owned businesses to our economy.

Cinda brings a fresh perspective to the realities of local retail with innovative strategies and solutions to promote and sustain those unique, independent shops that give each community its character, whether it's a local deli, a dress shop or florist. She will also address creative efforts of local consumers to support those shops special to their retail quality of life.
Cinda Baxter understands small business from the inside out, having once been a retailer herself. As past recipient of two national Retailer Excellence Awards and press coverage ranging from Modern Bride to the Wall Street Journal, she now “pays it forward” to retailers and vendors through her consulting company, Always Upward, and as founder of The 3/50 Project, which Fox Business News refers to as having “the formula that could save some local businesses that might not otherwise survive the recession.”
Full breakfast buffet will be provided ($10 per person and $75 per 8 person table). Your check is your reservation. Make checks payable to MidTown, Inc. and mail to 1236 Wildwood Avenue, Columbus, Georgia 31906. For additional information, please call (706) 494-1663. You may also go to www.midtowncolumbusga.org and click on “Invest in MidTown” to reserve your seat via credit card. Please note in the "Comment" section that your transaction is for this event. This event is made possible by generous donations from the Wachovia/Wells Fargo Foundation.

Buy local, and chains also employ locals too! Avoid online shopping. Banks that sub out there services to Canada and Scotland should be avoided. Many local banks are agent banks for large processors. They have to charge more to pay the banks for the direct referrals. Compare what we offer. We offer pass thru pricing without a hidden margin.
