How did you get the old Country's BBQ commercials you put on YouTube? They're great! Ah, good times, good times... Would you by any chance have the one about fresh-squeezed lemonade?

OH!! So HE'S Ralphabetz! Would you happen to know if he frequented Dee Fords in the late 70's? He looks so much like a man I used to see there, who would spend the whole night on the dance floor swaying to the music, sometimes alone, sometimes , with a dance partner. His hair was long and wavy, and he dressed as if he'd just gotten back from Woodstock... very retro.

I'm sorry I didn't see your (and Abe's) prior emails. Not sure how I missed those. As for the Wynnton Road Streetscape plan. You will see the completion of a $50,000 landscape plan (with irrigation) at the intersection of Brown/Peacock and Wynnton Road, so keep your eyes peeled for that. We are also guaranteed brick stamped crosswalks and black painted signal poles at that intersection. The $1 million Transporation Enhancement project has commenced. The city put out a Request for Proposal. Thirteen firms applied. We will be selected the contractor next week. We can look at a 6-9 month planning process (required right-of-way assessments, environmental impact exclusion process, etc.), and, then, construction begins. Construction will take about 9-10 months to complete.

Thanks for your interest. This project will change the face of MidTown Columbus.

Not sure. I know Skip Ok. I can email him if you like but I'm not sure where he stands on that issue. Maybe put together excerpts from the thread?

As far as speaking about it.... hmmm... I would just raise a concern. Maybe suggest a better writing that would allow for the establishments to work out limitations instead of government? Maybe have a db clause as opposed to a "none at all" clause? One thing is for sure - you could make it work. And defining limiting laws is not helping anyone in a struggling economy!

Not that I'm aware of. This is a first reading hearing, and so people who wish to speak do not have to get on the agenda beforehand, they just need to show up tonight at 5:30 in the Council chambers on the Plaza level. I believe the reason for the no live music may be too broad. The real target is the patio/deck outside music, but the way the proposal is written, it covers all music. Seems to me a piano playing in the background is much more conducive to a pleasant dinner than piped-in music which is allowed. (That, by the way, is not an official city position -- just a "JudyT" position.) It would not hurt, and perhaps would help, if someone appeared tonight to make sure the Councilors know your position.

My neighborhood Midtown Walgreens Pharma: UNcompassionate & Rude to the Sick

Walgreens on Wynnton Rd. has become a horrid neighbor & pharmacy. I will now severely limit my patronage. I've shopped *across the street* everyday for two+ years. The staff's seen my infant son grow into a little boy. No more.

I don't often share consumer distaste, but when a neighbor is sick & stressed, don't make things difficult... clearly, the pharma staff deserves an "F" for f'in with me today.

Indies & the Health Care Riot & Wingnuts.

Get a grip.

If you're like me, you're objectively watching the Health Reform circus on the TV and down the street at townhalls about as UNcivil as you could expect from American adults.

I am Indie, a Centrist and I am keenly aware and know the difference between ignorant mob tactics and an honest debate.

Patriot Act Oversteps. Detains American Teen Indefinitely. PLEASE HELP.

THIS IS SERIOUS.

Look, from day one, Libertarians and Liberals alike have been hounding that fact that the Patriot Act impedes on basic American rights and due process. And now a mother's son was mistakenly taken... indefinitely.

The poorly written legislation has mistakenly entangled a home-schooled North Carolina teen in "detention" as a suspected "te… Continue

So, there's Tea Parties going on around the U.S. The big ones, ordained by Fox news will be San Antonio, Atlanta and some other city I can't remember... D.C.? It's a national media event handled by Libertarians, anti-Obamans and former-W voters pissed off for their original sin.

How to Save Newspapers through Content and Design Innovation

(PR Peeps, apply rules below to any presentation of information...)

In the continued story defending the innovation of newspapers, below is a video from TED.com, where a former Eastern Bloc designer transformed a traditional newspaper into a phenomena.

There is no reason for community newspapers to die. It's not about economics, it's about innovation. Instead of news execs outsourcing creative abroad, great art directors could save the newspaper from the boardroom...
